What does Datenmaske cost for small businesses?
The Starter plan is permanently free (5 documents/month); Solo costs €29, Professional €49 and Business starts at €199 per month. During the open beta, payment is disabled. All plans include automatic detection of 20+ data types.
Do I have to register to test the tool?

How long does redacting a document take?
Detection takes a few seconds. After your review and confirmation, the redacted PDF is exported in under 30 seconds. For a 10-page document, you're done in less than 2 minutes.
Are my documents safe with Datenmaske?
The regular NER runs on self-hosted servers in Germany. For OCR and optionally as a technical NER fallback stage, Azure services in configured EU regions are used. OpenAI and Google do not receive any document content. Registered documents are deleted after the selected retention period, by default after 30 days at the latest.
Which data types does Datenmaske detect automatically?
Names, email addresses, phone numbers, IBANs, addresses, social security numbers, dates of birth, credit card numbers and more — over 20 data types in total. Detection uses regex patterns and NER (Named Entity Recognition).
Is the redaction really irreversible?
Yes. The text is physically removed from the PDF, not just visually hidden. There is no way to restore the redacted data. Unlike manual methods (black bar), true redaction is final.
