Anyone applying for Grundsicherungsgeld in 2026 generally has to submit bank statements to the Jobcenter. Even so, not every intimate piece of information has to end up unprotected in the file. A black rectangle in a PDF editor is not enough. Underneath, the text can remain copyable or extractable via the PDF structure. Therefore work with a function that irreversibly removes the content from the document. Afterwards, check whether the redacted area can still be selected or searched.
